Spring into Summer

Gutter Accessories

Knock out your summer to-do list with these five weekend projects – and then sit back, relax, and enjoy the lazy days of summer.

1. Clean Slate: Power wash your home’s exterior to rinse away dirt, grime, and pollen, then wash windows, inside and out, for a crisp, clear view.

2. Prep Outdoor Spaces: While you’re at it, power wash decks and patios to get ready for long evenings outside. Before you haul out the patio furniture, check to see if your deck or patio needs a fresh coat of sealant to protect wood or stone surfaces from the elements.

3. Guard Your Gutters: Check gutters for blockages, and clear away any leaves, twigs, or needles that may have accumulated. Keep them from getting clogged again by installing Plastic Mesh Gutter Guards and Wedge Downspout Screens to keep the water flowing.

4. System Check. Replace filters in water and HVAC systems, and clean out the dryer vent by disconnecting it from the back of the machine and removing lint. Outside, brush away lint from the end of the vent and make sure the vent cover opens and closes freely.

5. Keep Cool. Get ready for soaring temperatures. If you have central air, schedule a professional tune up to make sure your AC is running smoothly. If you have window units, now is the time to pull them out of storage! Dust them off and use a vacuum to clean out any dust or dirt inside the unit near the evaporator coils. Clean or replace the filter, before installing units in your window. Frost King has Weather Seal to and Brackets to safely support window units and keep them working efficiently.
