Give Your Home’s Exterior a Once-Over

Pipe & Duct Insulation

Hopefully the weather will start to warm up this month, making it a good time to check your home’s exterior for signs of winter damage. Inspect key areas around your home, so you can identify and fix any issues before major damage occurs.

Roof

Use binoculars to inspect your roof, looking for cracked or missing shingles that need to be repaired or replaced. If you have a lot of damage, you may want to consider installing our Roof and Gutter De-Icing Kits next fall to prevent future ice dams from forming and wreaking havoc on your roof.

Chimney

Examine the chimney, checking for gaps between bricks or stone where the mortar has chipped or crumbled and can let in water.

Siding

Look for water stains on your siding, particularly around eaves and downspouts where clogged or leaky gutters may cause issues. Frost King makes a line of gutter accessories that can keep water flowing away from your home, including our Mesh Gutter Guard that can be cut to length with a pair of scissors and quickly installed on any type of gutter, and our Downspout Guards that slip into drainpipe openings to strain out debris and prevent clogging.
