Make Your Own Fourth of July Firecracker Decorations

Pipe & Duct Insulation

Get fired up for the Fourth of July with this DIY firecracker craft that’s easy to make (and easy on your wallet).

To make 3 rockets, you will need:

To make the firecrackers:

  1. Cut a 4-inch circle from one of the sheets of cardstock. Draw a dot in the center of the circle, then cut a slit from the edge of the circle to the dot. Overlap the cut slides until a cone shape forms, then tape the overlapped area closed with the double-sided tape.

  2. Wrap the Frost King Pipe and Duct Insulation with the remaining cardstock, using double-sided tape to hold the paper in place. Run a bead of hot glue around the top of the insulation, then attach the the cone to form a rocket shape. Decorate the body of the rocket with stars and the black and white packing tape, using a hot glue gun to affix the stars to the rocket.

  3. Cut pieces of wire in a variety of lengths. Arrange the wire around the top of the dowel, then use a hot glue gun to attach the wire to the top of the wooden dowel.

  4. Use the hot glue gun to decorate the wire with the decorative stars.

  5. Once the glue has dried, place a dab of glue on one side of the pipe insulation opening and press the dowel into place.
